Another from my early-evening excursion. I just love the light at that time of day. I should get out there more often. This one's just a wee little guy, only 8x8, a smaller size than I generally work with. Amazingly, I put just as much work into a tiny piece as I do a larger one. I just don't use as much paint!

I went out driving last night about 7:30 to get some photos of buildings with that golden sunny glow of evening. This one just jumped out at me. The sign behind the tree belongs to the supermarket where my husband works. This building sits on the hill behind it. I just love that burnt-orange of red bricks at sunset.

I put a lot of time into this one. Halfway through, the ugly stage was so bad I almost threw it out. Now I'm glad I persevered. It took forever to get the colors right. I must have mixed the brick color six or seven times, and the shaded side of the house behind it just as many.

I've finally taken this out of wait-and-see mode and declared it officially done and ready for the public to see. This is a departure for me; although in years past, I did many Boston cityscapes, this is my first night scene. I took the original photo in December of 2006 on Boylston Street, when a new building was going up across the street. I'm sure the scene looks very different now!

My first still life. For a long time, I've been fascinated with bottles and glass and the reflections that light makes on them. This is my first real attempt to render that phenomenon with acrylics. A simple arrangement; a candle in a glass jar, a salt and pepper set, and a pair of reading glasses.

This is one of my older paintings, circa approximately 1999. It's always been one of my favorites, and I never thought I'd sell it. But the more I paint, the less room I have on my walls, so I recently decided to move out some of my older works to make room for new ones.

I recently finished this one, and I've had one hell of a time trying to get a decent photo. This is the best I've been able to get. I painted this for a friend of mine who mentioned months ago that she'd like a painting of her house. I hope she likes it...I put a lot of time into this one. I was advised to get rid of the cluster of trees that cover the front of the house. I debated taking that advice, but in the end decided to keep the trees because they're part of her landscaping, and to delete them would mean losing some of those amazing shadows on the lawn, which I feel are the making of the painting. So here it is. Hope she likes it!

So this is it, the final version. I hope Theresa likes it!
