Morning, Townsend Road
My latest, finished at last! This house is just up the road from mine, and as I was driving by early on Sunday morning, Mother's Day, I was struck by the green, green grass and the deep, velvety shadows that surrounded it. The light was perfect, and as I was carrying my camera with me (as usual), I quickly pulled it out and snapped a photo. In the right light, even the simplest of objects takes on a whole new meaning.
Chillin'
Just for fun, I thought I'd post this one. I painted it last fall, from a photo I took several years ago. This is my other half, taking in some sun at Old Orchard Beach a few summers ago. It makes me wish summer would get here a little more quickly this year. I love the beach!

Vassalboro Morning
My latest. It's now in the "wait and see" stage that all my paintings go through before I declare them done. Plus, I have to finish the top and bottom edges. Although I've been painting edges for a while, this is my first time with a gallery wrap canvas, and I think I really like them. It's an entirely different experience when the painting actually wraps around the sides. It almost gives the painting a 3-D effect that you don't get from regular canvas. I'll be using more of these in the future.

White House With Magnolia
My latest. Saw this house when I was driving last Wednesday. I believe it was in Biddeford. After a hellish winter, spring has finally arrived, and the magnolias are in bloom everywhere. This is my nod to those exotic blooming wonders.

Afternoon, Two Lights State Park
This is just a little guy I painted this afternoon. The daughter and I went to Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth the other day, and we both took a bunch of pictures. This is one of the scenes I photographed.

Summer Light
The final version of my latest. This is the biggest canvas I've worked with yet. I really enjoy doing these big paintings, although I have no idea where I'll hang it! I'm running out of wall space; have sold a few lately, but they don't sell as quickly as I create them!

Here's my latest, another light-and-shadow roadway painting. I've always been fascinated by the early-morning shadows on the Interstate, and I snapped this photo last October. Finally got around to painting it. Hope you enjoy!
